Piercing Aftercare
Healing INFO
Every piercing has different healing times, and everyone's body is different. However your piercer will tell you the average healing times for various piercings. This assumes that they have been cared for and cleaned properly for the entire duration of the healing time. Trauma to the unhealed piercing, improper or lack of cleaning, not following your piercer's directions, or other factors can lengthen your healing time greatly.
It's important to follow our directions. Your piercer will always go over the instructions after your piercing, and offer you an aftercare sheet to snap a photo of, which will include specific info about your new piercing.
Basic directions are also posted in our Piercing Room, which you can snap photos of so you may reference it when you get home. We reccomend using STERILE SALINE SPRAY, and DR. BRONNERS UNSCENTED SOAP for most piercings. For oral piercings, we recommend ALCOHOL FREE MOUTHWASH such as BIOTENE.
OUR ADVICE IS FREE, call or swing by and we can always help you out or answer questions! You can also reach our piercers through instagram or email if you want to send photos or ease any of your concerns. We want your piercing to heal well, just as much as you should! That's our work, and your body, so everyone involved cares deeply about the outcome!

ADDITIONAL Information
Do not touch your piercing with your dirty hands!
Do not ever play with your piercing!
Be careful showering, not to catch your piercing with your washcloth or loofah.
Do not let your dirty towel come into contact with your piercing. Towels are reused, dirty and can cause snags.
Make sure your clothing, bedding and anything else coming into contact with your piercing is clean.
Do not submerge your piercing in any water, bathtubs, hot tubs, rivers, lakes, streams, pools etc.
Do not let anyone touch your piercing.
Do not take aftercare advice from your friends, they are not smart.
You are not Wolverine, just because your piercing stopped hurting, does not mean it is healed.
Clean your piercing the entire healing time. You are not the world’s fastest healer.
Do not let any animals have contact with your piercings. Pets are nasty and will screw up your piercing.
Take ibuprofen for any discomfort. Sleep with your piercing elevated, ice your piercing.
If your piercing develops a granuloma, apply tea tree oil after each of your saline soaks to the granuloma.
Put on enough tea tree oil to moisturize it. Do not leave your piercing goopy.
Do not cover your piercings with any makeup for the duration of the healing time.
Do not bandage/cover your healing piercings for too long. Your piercing needs to breathe.
Do not pick off the lymph (crusties). The best time to soak them off, would be from a saline soak or a hot shower.
If they are stuck to your skin and do not want to come off, DO NOT PICK THEM OFF!
Oral Piercing
Stay away from spicy, salty, citrus foods for the first week. Get yourself a new toothbrush.
No making out or performing oral sex for the healing time of your oral piercing.
Always come in to downsize your piercing when the swelling subsides.
Having oversized jewelry in too long can also cause problems.
Dermals
Warm saline soak your piercings for 5 minutes. twice a day. -
Once a day-for the life of your dermal you need to clean under the gem. A lot of nasty shit collects under the gem top (dirt, oils, dead skin cells, hair etc.)
This nasty stuff needs to be removed or your piercing will not be able to breathe and it could end up rejecting.
After a saline soak, run dental floss, edge of baby wipe or a clean toothpick under the gem top to clean that shit out.
If you are getting a dermal in a place you cannot see/reach, you may need someone in your life to help you clean it daily.
If you neglect your dermal piercing at all, your body could reject them. These piercings are extremely sensitive.
GENITAL PIERCING
So you have received a genital piercing… KEEP IT TO YOURSELF. If you want sexual contact, now is the time to be selfless and take care of your partner(s) with your mouth/hands/toys while your piercing is still healing. Avoid sexual or any other physical contact with your healing piercing! Your piercer will tell you the average healing time to be expected.
When can you use it again? A good guideline is, if your genital piercing feels okay to use, then try it out with caution
Penis owners:
Wear a condom! Partake in sex positions that keep friction off of your piercing. Lubricating the inside of the condom, as well as your jewelry itself, can help reduce friction. The initial piercing jewelry may seem large at first to account for swelling... you will want this extra room to account for erections as well. We recommend condoms with larger receptacle ends, because they might fit over your jewelry better.
Vagina owners:
Make your partner(s) wear a condom! Only partake in sex positions that keep friction off of your piercing. Such as on top, from behind, etc, should be fine. Just play it safe. Your jewelry may be long at first to account for swelling. You will be able to downsize and change jewelry after healing.
Everyone remember: Having sex with a freshly pierced and unprotected genital is f*cking disgusting! People can look, but cannot touch. Do not let anyone put their mouth or hands on your healing piercing. Anyone who wants to have that kind of contact with an unhealed wound is gross, and maybe you should rethink your relationship with them.
Make your partner(s) follow the rules and everything will be back in working order sooner than later.
Follow all the other general piercing aftercare,
PLUS always clean your genital piercing after any sexual contact!
